Phase-0 Grants Awarded to Local Startups

PhysioComm has been named the winner of High Tech Rochester's September 2007 Phase-Zero SBIR Award of $2,500. The Phase-Zero Program was made possible through a grant from Finger Lakes Wired.

SBIR and STTR (The Small Business Innovative Research and Small Business Technology Transfer) programs provide R&D funding of over $2.2 billion annually to small businesses. Additionally, winning an SBIR/STTR grant serves as validation for venture capital sources as well as strategic partners, and can make growing companies more likely to secure additional investments.

The Phase-Zero Grant provides funding to small businesses for developing and improving their SBIR and STTR proposals, including:

  • Grant writers
  • The development of the grant's budget
  • Market research in support of the grant proposal

The Phase Zero Program awards $2,500 per grant, with typically 1-2 awards per month. The Program Application Deadline is 5pm on the last day of each calendar month. For the Phase Zero program rules and application forms go to: The Phase Zero Program or http://htr.org/sbir.asp#Grant.

To learn more about the Program, please contact Rami Katz, Technology Commercialization Manager, at Rami.katz@htr.org.
