Cornell “Technology Farm” Wins International Facility Competition
Recognized as Intelligent Building of the Year

Finalists for the Intelligent Building award are selected by ICF based on nomination from developers, technology companies and experts in the field. Winners in the past two years have included the MaRS complex in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; and Ebene Cyber Tower, a 12-story commercial building in Mauritius, Africa.

The facility identified by ICF is a 20,000 square-foot "flex tech" incubator that provides offices to 10 agri-tech tenants from around the world and offers "wet labs" and pilot production facilities.  The Park is owned by Cornell Agriculture & Food Technology Park Corporation, a non-profit organization, with strategic partners including New York State Experiment Station, Ontario (NY) County, and Key Bank.

“The Cornell Agriculture & Food Technology Park recognizes that enabling the transfer of massive amounts of data with other entities is an enormous benefit to our tenants and their partners,” explains Steve Isaacs, CAFTP executive director. “It's just another point of leverage to help speed the exchange of ideas and the development of new technologies.”

The Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) is a nonprofit think tank that focuses on job creation and economic development in the broadband economy. Each year ICF produces its conference and awards ceremony, Building the Broadband Economy , in New York City . This year's event took place on May 17-18 at Polytechnic University .

The Cornell Agriculture & Food Technology Park , also known as The Technology Farm, is a 72-acre campus that enables collaboration with world-class Cornell University faculty and the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station. Tenants can link to cutting-edge research in numerous competencies related to food, agriculture and bio-based sciences.
